Brazilian Waxing
I know it’s scary, but it’s 100x easier than you think… especially once you get past the first one.
You’ll be a pro by your second appointment!

Beginner Brazilian Wax is for those who have never had a Brazilian wax before, or if it's been longer than 8-10 weeks, or if you have shaved (that's okay; I don't judge; I just want to have time to get you as smooth as possible)!
I promise you’ll be a pro by the time your second appointment rolls around!

The Maintenance Brazilian is bookable if it's been less than 10 weeks since you've been waxed & a razor hasn't touched those vulvas. And that means if you’ve been waxed by other waxers as well (my laser folks fit in here too, or sugared)
A Brazilian wax includes incudes roughly 2-3 inches from your bikini line, the mound, and labias. Plus the butt strip, which is 2-3 inches on each side of your butthole, & tailbone (aka what I call the bunny tail).
FAQ because waxing for the first time can be scary

¼ of an inch!
Put the ruler down 😂 As long as it’s been 2- 3 weeks since you last shaved, or you can pinch the hairs with your fingers, you’re good to go!
-
Take ibuprofen or Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment, & hold off on caffeine if you can.
The videos you see online are often people being very dramatic for views. The best way I explain the feeling to clients is that it’s similar to a tattoo or a rubber band flick, but it’s not a constant pain.
The wax has to dry, & I give you a small warning before each pull to prepare you. The first wax is the most painful, & then the hairs thin out so much that the second wax & on will be a walk in the park!

This info will be emailed to you before your appointment, but you're a pro & already studying!
Exfoliate 48 hours before your wax (please don't exfoliate any closer than 48 hours before your wax) & moisturize with unscented lotion.
Hydrate & try to keep the caffeine intake to a minimum (I know, rich coming from me), but caffeine can make you slightly more sensitive.
Wear loose baggy pants/shorts to your appointment, if you can.
Don’t forget to take ibuprofen or Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment.
-
You can still be waxed; I just ask you to wear a tampon, disc, or cup to your appointment.
Don’t forget to take some ibuprofen 30 minutes before to help with being a little more sensitive when you’re on your period.
-
You sure can! Unless your doctor states otherwise, you should be good to go!
-
And I do too; there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you! I wax around them & move right along.

I also have HS, otherwise known as hidradenitis suppurativa. As long as you don’t have any active open flares, we should be okay to wax ya.
Waxing has been a game changer for reducing flares for me (it’s not guaranteed, but it’s always worth a try)
-
As long as you're not having an active outbreak, we are good to go!
It is worth noting that if you do have herpes, waxing can cause a flare-up in symptoms. If you’re on preventive medication, it can be helpful.
*Please ask your doctor if you have any concerns.

I usually say your bald for 1.5-2 weeks, & then random hairs will start to break through the skin around that two week mark.
Usually, you’ll get waxed every 4-6 weeks depending on your hair growth, but I do have folks that come in as early as 3 weeks, & some can go up to 8 weeks!
-
This will be talked about at your first appointment & you will also get an email following your appointment explaining all of this in detail!
Once you’ve been waxed, all you have to worry about is keeping the area free of dead skin & dry skin (the worst enemy of newly waxed skin).
I usually recommend a chemical exfoliant on an easy-to-use toner pad that I carry in the suite!
Scrubs aren't my favorite to recommend because they often contain pore-clogging ingredients and can irritate skin when it’s really not doing what we need it to do. If you’re more of a physical exfoliant person, I say a dry brush or exfoliating towels are always an option too!
And then a basic unscented lotion, which I also carry in the suite if you don’t have one handy at home!
